LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – One person has died and a sheriff’s deputy was hospitalized after a home fire broke out on Christmas Eve, according to the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office.
It happened in the 2800 block of Hearne Avenue in Kingman, Arizona about 100 miles southeast of Las Vegas.
When deputies arrived they located one person inside the home. As they attempted to rescue the person trapped inside the deputies were overcome by the smoke and heat in the house. Northern Arizona Fire District crews were eventually able to rescue the person inside and take them to the hospital where they were later pronounced dead.
