A Las Vegas dog whose social media presence has helped locals and visitors navigate the valley’s dog-friendly scene has advanced to the finals of a national pet competition.
Marley, known for documenting dog-friendly community events, local businesses and experiences across the Las Vegas Valley, is now among the finalists vying for Nevada’s “Best in State” title in the Pet Lovers Choice Awards.
The competition spans all 50 states, with state winners advancing to a national ceremony in Los Angeles.
Marley reached the finals after competing against more than 600 dogs statewide across two rounds of public voting.
“We originally started sharing Marley’s adventures just to help people find more places they could enjoy with their dogs,” said Danielle Dunker, Marley’s owner. “Seeing the Las Vegas community support her like this and potentially help her represent Nevada nationally is so rewarding.”
Through social media, Marley’s adventures have taken her to Aviators Bark on the Berm nights, doggy fashion shows, pool parties and adoption events.
As Las Vegas has expanded its dog-friendly culture, Marley’s content has helped spotlight local businesses, events and destinations that welcome pets, Dunker said.
The winner of the Nevada title will represent the state at the national Pet Lovers Choice Awards ceremony in Los Angeles, where state champions from across the country will compete for the national title.
Public voting is open through Thursday. Supporters can cast votes here.
